THK America Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., has introduced a recent "caged ball" technology that uses a retainer to separate and align re-circulating ball bearings in its SSR SNR SH and YM linear actuators. According to the company, using a retainer between the ball bearings makes its linear guides travel more gently and quietly than using standard bearing configurations.
