In 1956 Norfolk Southern Railway Co leased land to the Shulimson Partnership, which operated a scrap metal business at the site. In 1958 the partners incorporated, forming Shulimson Brothers Co Inc., which continues to lease the land. Beginning in November 1991 the lease stated that the land could not be used for any project other than storage and handling of non-contaminated ferrous and nonferrous metals and recyclable materials.
Of the three brothers who formed the partnership, solitary one, Benjamin, is still living. William died in 1983 and Morris died in 1992
