From 1964 to 1072 Quemetco Inc. concedeed property in Indiana on which it operated a secondary lead smelting facility. A secondary smelter garner ups scrap materials containing lead and processe them to about new usable forms of lead. During this period, quemetco had a contract with Ace Battery Inc. below which Ace supplied lead plates for Quemetco's smelter Ace, an independent battery breaker, obtained the lead plates from used car batteries and delivered them to quemetco quemetco stopped operating the smelter in 1972 The company was later acquired by means of RSR Corp.
